Aurora 2.4 ships, and what we changed
Notes on the cycle rewrite, the new neutral toggle, and why the volumetrics now stop screaming at 5pm.

What changed
Aurora 2.4 is mostly a rewrite of the cycle modifier tables. The previous version applied a single set of values across all weather states. 2.4 splits them — overcast and rain now read against their own modifier blocks instead of inheriting from extra_sunny.
The visible result is twofold:
- Sunset holds its colour for longer. The 5pm-to-7pm window doesn't crash through magenta into blue at 18:42 like it used to.
- Volumetrics behave at low sun angles. The scattering intensity now ramps down past 1.4 instead of staying flat — god rays stop blowing out roof edges.
Neutral toggle
A request from testers. Aurora ships warm. The neutral toggle pulls the warmth back 30% without touching contrast or saturation. Drop the aurora_neutral.xml into the same directory and the loader picks it up.
What's next
Aurora 2.5 will land alongside Amber Timecycle. Past that, the focus shifts to the Depth Shader Stack — the volumetric pass needs one more rewrite before it leaves beta.
